How to spend a day in Golden Triangle
Civic Center Park first so you see the axis, then the Art Museum or Clyfford Still, then the Central Library if you want a desk that is actually public. History Colorado is the indoor Colorado hour. Kirkland Museum on Bannock is the decorative-arts room next door — closed Mon–Tue. Byers-Evans House behind DAM is the 1883 house museum — Center for Colorado Women’s History, a quieter ticket than Hamilton. Grocery is the miss — Cap Hill King Soopers at 9th and Downing is the cart most residents actually fill. Denver Health at Bannock and 6th is the hospital campus — ER, clinics, pharmacy, the appointment if the condo is home. The U.S. Mint on Colfax at Cherokee is the working coin plant — free tours Mon–Thu by reservation, gift shop if you miss the slot. The Convention Center on 14th is the Blue Bear and the week the hotels fill — treat it as weather if the condo faces Speer. The City and County Building on Bannock is the 1932 hall across the park from the Capitol — mayor, council, courts, security screening, closed weekends. Wade Blank Civic Center Station at 16th and Broadway is the regional bus box — MallRide turnaround, 18 routes, the reason a triangle condo can skip a parking pass. The McNichols Civic Center Building on Colfax is the 1909 Carnegie library reuse — city events and exhibits, the interior if Civic Center is already the lawn and DAM is already a ticket. The Colorado Supreme Court at 2 E 14th is the Ralph Carr courthouse — public arguments on the calendar, security screening, the civic neighbor if Central Library is already the desk. Ellie Caulkins at 1385 Curtis is the opera house in the performing-arts complex — theatre-district edge north of Civic Center, the bill if the Convention Center is already a conference. the ART hotel on Broadway is the bed if the museum afternoon runs long. Trinity United Methodist at 1820 Broadway is the 1888 steeple — the landmark if the Mint is already a tour and the Art Museum is already a ticket. The Denver Firefighters Museum at 1326 Tremont is the civic room next to the engines — hours posted, the stop if the Mint is already a tour and DAM is already the afternoon. The Buell Theatre at 14th and Curtis is the Broadway house inside the arts complex — the ticket if Ellie is already opera and Bellco is already a concert.
